Discover EVECSA’s
Communities of Practice
EVECSA fosters Communities of Practice (CoPs) to cultivate robust skills ecosystems.
These CoPs, encompassing both Centers of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) and the Platform of Vocational Excellence (PoVE), serve as collaborative enviroments where diverse stakeholders converge to exchange insights, expertise, and best practices in Climate Smart Agriculture.
Understanding
Communities of Practice
In EVECSA, each CoVE and the PoVE function as a dynamic Community of Practice, comprising individuals and organizations from various backgrounds including agro-VET providers, companies, sector representative organizations united by a common goal: advancing Climate Smart Agriculture.
Skills Ecosystems
EVECSA’s CoPs contribute to the creation of skills ecosystems, where individuals and organizations interact to address skill needs, develop competencies, and promote knowledge exchange.
Within these ecosystems, stakeholders from various sectors collaborate to enhance the agricultural workforce’s capabilities and promote sustainable development practices.
1 - Domain
Climate Smart Agriculture serves as the focal domain within EVECSA, guiding discussions and initiatives towards sustainable agricultural practices and resilience to climate change.
2 - Practice
EVECSA’s CoPs engage in a range of activities aimed at strengthening the skills and knowledge base within the agricultural sector. These activities include fostering collaboration, developing educational resources, facilitating knowledge transfer, and enhancing vocational training.
3 - Community
EVECSA’s communities encompass a diverse array of stakeholders, including agro-VET providers, businesses, sector representatives, and academic institutions.
This diverse representation ensures that all facets of the agricultural ecosystem are included, fostering comprehensive and inclusive collaboration.
Through robust Communities of Practice, EVECSA empowers stakeholders to collaboratively tackle the challenges of Climate Smart Agriculture, driving innovation, knowledge sharing, and skill development across the agricultural landscape.
Why we need Climate Smart Agriculture?
The necessity for Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) is underscored by Europe’s commitment to a green transition in agriculture, as articulated in the European Green Deal. With farmers and farm employees at the forefront of implementing changes, proficiency in CSA is paramount.
CSA guides actions to transform agri-food systems toward green and climate-resilient practices, vital for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, adapting to climate change, and sustaining agricultural productivity and biodiversity.
What is Vocational Excellence?
Vocational excellence provides high-quality training and education that are relevant to the labor market and appealing to both learners and employers.
It takes a comprehensive approach to skills development, addressing innovation, regional and local growth, lifelong learning, and smart specialisation.
The EU’s vision for Vocational Excellence includes:
Integrating into local skills ecosystems, supporting regional development, innovation, and industrial clusters.
1
2
Collaborating with education sectors, the scientific community, and businesses.
Offering job-specific and key competences through high-quality, assured training.
3
4
Building innovative partnerships with the business world and fostering professional development for staff.
This model ensures access to top-notch education for all learners, preparing them for quality employment and contributing to a dynamic, inclusive economy.
The Centres of Vocational Excellence
The Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) are networks that create local “skills ecosystems.” They provide high-quality vocational training, support regional development, and foster innovation and social inclusion.
CoVEs work closely with companies, particularly SMEs, to drive local business growth, innovation, and entrepreneurial initiatives.
Key features of CoVEs include integration with regional development, strong stakeholder relationships, and leveraging the expertise of each partner for maximum impact. CoVEs aim to offer more than just quality qualifications; they strive to create dynamic, innovative environments that support lifelong learning and regional growth.
