Sicily CoVE

“In Sicily, our agriculture faces tough hurdles due to climate change like drought and wildfires. It’s only by teaming up with regional players in training, research, and business that we can create innovative training opportunities. These will help our farmers confront these challenges head-on.”

Caterina Impastato and Margherita Rosi – Sicily CoVE Regional Captains

What the Sicily CoVE aims to achieve:

The EVECSA Sicily CoVE, comprising CORERAS, LAND, and CESIE, aims to advance innovative and sustainable agriculture in Sicily. CORERAS, a VET-provider, focuses on upskilling agricultural technicians and conducting applied research.

LAND, a rural enterprise, provides consulting services for ecological agricultural techniques and engages the community in environmental protection. CESIE, a non-profit organisation, connects research and action to promote community development. Together, they seek to modernise Sicilian agriculture by integrating cultural and technological renewal, fostering a holistic approach to the green transition.

By leveraging their extensive networks and expertise, the Sicily CoVE aims to enhance skills provision and competences of teachers and learners, aligning with evolving economic, environmental and social needs of the region.

“When we talk to students and farmers in Denmark about the green transition, most agree that they, – and the entire agricultural sector, plays a crucial and important role. But when asked how they can act more climate-smart, many become less clear. We need to give students and farmers specific skills to work in a climate-smart way and give the entire sector a more proactive voice and role in the green transition”
