EVECSA Poland CoVE launched with participation of Deputy Minister of Agriculture

“When we talk to students and farmers in Denmark about the green transition, most agree that they, – and the entire agricultural sector, plays a crucial and important role. But when asked how they can act more climate-smart, many become less clear. We need to give students and farmers specific skills to work in a climate-smart way and give the entire sector a more proactive voice and role in the green transition”

The Center of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) for Climate Smart Agriculture in Poland was officially launched at the Complex of Schools of the Center for Continuing Education (ZSCKU) in Wojsławice, near Zduńska Wola.

This Poland CoVE is part of a broader European platform, which connects Centers of Vocational Excellence from six European countries: Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Poland.

The inauguration took place on September 27, 2024, during a conference hosted at ZSCKU in Wojsławice. The event introduced the participants, along with representatives from the regional agricultural sector and public administration, to the key goals of the EVECSA project (European Vocational Excellence for Climate Smart Agriculture), an ambitious 4-year Erasmus+ initiative.

The conference featured two key presentations:

  • “Climate-friendly agriculture” by Professor Krzysztof Pieczarka from the University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wrocław.
  • “Agricultural biogas plants in a closed-loop economy – development conditions in Poland” by Michał Ćwil from Gas Cogeneration Investment Consulting.

With the growing relevance of climate-smart agriculture, the event attracted significant interest from agricultural institutions, local farmers, as well as teachers and students of the Wojsławice school.

Adding to the significance of the event, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Adam Nowak, joined online, underscoring the importance of the project. He also expressed his pleasure in announcing that from January 1, 2025, the ZSCKU in Wojsławice will become part of the schools managed by his ministry.
