June 2026 newsletter: Climate-smart agriculture in action through examples from Finland and the Netherlands

“When we talk to students and farmers in Denmark about the green transition, most agree that they, – and the entire agricultural sector, plays a crucial and important role. But when asked how they can act more climate-smart, many become less clear. We need to give students and farmers specific skills to work in a climate-smart way and give the entire sector a more proactive voice and role in the green transition”

Across Europe, climate change is no longer a distant scenario.

It is already reshaping how food is produced, how land is managed, and how rural communities organise their daily lives.

At EVECSA, we see Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) as a key part of how Europe can respond to the realities of climate change – not only through innovation and policy, but through the lived experiences of people who are already adapting on the ground.

In this newsletter, we share two stories from different parts of Europe that we have come across and found particularly powerful. They help illustrate, in very concrete ways, why CSA is becoming essential in supporting farmers and rural communities through a changing climate – and what adaptation looks like in practice.
