“When we talk to students and farmers in Denmark about the green transition, most agree that they, – and the entire agricultural sector, plays a crucial and important role. But when asked how they can act more climate-smart, many become less clear. We need to give students and farmers specific skills to work in a climate-smart way and give the entire sector a more proactive voice and role in the green transition”
Kasper Hvelplund Overgaard – Denmark CoVE Regional Captain
What does the “Denmark CoVE” aim to achieve
EVECSA Denmark CoVE consists of the following VET-providers: Green Academy Aarhus, Bygholm Agricultural College, Kalø Organic Agricultural College, and Asmildkloster Agricultural College as well as Aarhus University and Food & Bio Cluster Denmark.
The Denmark CoVE aims to be a driver for clima-smart agriculture, and we want to empower students and farmers to act climate-smart. To achieve this, we want to
- Develop strategies, methods and content to teach and equip agricultural students and farmers with the knowledge and skill sets necessary for climate-smart agriculture
- Create a new narrative around the agricultural sector as a sector that takes lead and helps find climate-smart solutions
- Recruit new types of young people to the agricultural sector who choose the sector to contribute to a more sustainable future
- Foster strong partnerships and collaboration with stakeholders across the agricultural, educational, and environmental sectors to amplify our impact and drive broader systemic change
